“Your Data is Your Data” — TrakInvest will pay you for sharing your data
TrakInvest, at its core, is about empowering the retail investor with tools and technologies to trade better. TrakInvest is about data, content and analytics and has found use cases in education and financial services.
TrakInvest provides a virtual trading environment where every user is given USD 100,000. As users trade and build a winning portfolio, their track records get captured. This enormous data across 100,000+ users is churned with the help of powerful algorithms to generate leader board rankings of players.
For instance, user A has traded a stock 10 times and returned 8% while a user B has traded a stock 2 times and returned 15%. User A is ranked higher than User B as that is the user that needs to be followed, all things considered. Most platforms would rate User B as a higher player solely based on absolute portfolio returns.
As new players come in, they are recommended to follow the higher ranking players for trading ideas. Every time the high performing players buy/sell a stock, their followers get a real time update which they can either observe or replicate.
A powerful peer-to-peer ecosystem is created.
To sustain this ecosystem in a fair, unbiased and transparent manner, we wanted to incentivise the top performing players on the platform to keep coming back and sharing their ideas. To do so, when a player shares his/her data or his/her alpha generating capability, he/she gets compensated for sharing that data. TrakInvest strongly believes in the philosophy that “your data is your data” and as a user, you should be compensated when your data is monetised by the company.
With the advent of the blockchain technology, creating a reward economy for the users was possible in a seamless, frictionless manner. TrakInvest moved to blockchain and launched its own virtual currency — The TRAK token to reward the players on the platform, no matter where in the world they reside. So for instance, if a player from India wanted to follow a player from Singapore, he/she could simply pay him/her with TRAK tokens instead of undergoing the hassles of currency conversions.
Such ecosystems are the future as individuals now look for rewards for sharing their data and companies can no longer simply monetise customer data without incentivising them
